Romance is the new order of business at The Beaumont’s reimagined restaurant, Rosi. Named after Rosemary Saïd, wife of hotel owner Wafic Saïd, this Mayfair dining room has shed its moody, masculine murals in favour of something softer. Luke Edward Hall’s joyful artwork lines the walls, pastel pink and green banquettes anchor the room, and the warm glow of table lamps has banished the glare of a ghastly overhead light. It’s a seductive setting, one that might have you falling a little in love with your dinner date. The menu offers elevated comfort classics: an Old-Fashioned Pork Pie arrives on a trolley to be sliced tableside and served with a zingy house sauce, while the London Smoke & Cure Salmon is garnished to taste before your eyes. For mains, a perfectly cooked Dry-Aged Lake District sirloin meets every expectation of a kitchen led by Lisa Goodwin-Allen, and the Dover Sole – grilled or meunière, the latter being the obvious choice – was perfectly light. Expertly chosen wines complement each dish well. Should romance blossom, a personalised sundae adorned with popcorn, cookie crumbs, or tipsy raisins should be your choice of dessert to share.
